Ah, winter is just a faded memory now as we get ready for warmer weather. The warmer weather means grass cutting season is about ready to begin. I hope that our contractors have their lawn equipment ready to roll out and have planned accordingly. Over the past two months, we have seen our volume of work increase anywhere from 10-20% with our clients. I firmly believe that the reason for these increases have been our staff and contractors performance. Our overall contractor scores have been in the high 90’s and our staff has been keeping pace with the increase in volume. Moreover, we have created accountability through our software for each job that we receive from the client. All of these factors have been made thru significant improvements.
One area of improvement that I believe that has made the biggest impact for Maxim has been the knowledge of our Kolbe scores. Many of you that attended the contractor workshop in February, were able to see how knowing each other’s Kolbe scores is important. At Maxim, we are using Kolbe to identify new employees and contractors for the hiring process. I feel that this is has become more critical than ever when making the decision to hire a new person. Hiring the right people based on their conative is one critical part in creating an efficient and productive team. By us understanding peoples conative it allows them succeed both personally and professionally.
So, how does all of this pertain to our (Maxim) interaction with our contractors. If you have been receiving work from us, you probably have already taken a Kolbe Index and we know how you problem solve best based on your Index score. If you have not taken the test and you are receiving work from us, please email me. This is truly critical for you to understand your Kolbe score as well as the scores of whom you interact with in our office. Moreover, as contractors receive more work then it usually means that the contractor may have to do some internal hiring for their office. I cannot tell you enough how important it is to be making the right hire when you are increasing your volume. The Kolbe index shows you how people problem solve and how they operate best so that they are efficient and productive. The index is not about race, religion or how smart you are. The index measures your natural tendencies.
